A few minutes of chatter I did not transcribe -- I am already up to 29 minutes, and it's taking forever to write it out!! I was about ready to give up, but then I heard the next part, which I thought was entertaining...

I am giving up for tonight. And contemplating, once again, not allowing water in their beds at night. More often than not lately, Alex is waking up soaked. I hate to not give it to them if they are thirsty, but they seem to be playing with it more than needing it!

  1. I guess we say "oh shoot" all the time... not great, but better than things we could say, I guess. :)

  2. I say it all the time! And when I am totally frustrated and I say it, they laugh hysterically and repeat me over and over again. It is much better than many alternatives I could be saying for sure!
In fact, the morning after the night when everyone in the house was throwing up, Ellie told me she heard me whisper the "s" word twice. I said, "Ellie, I was slipping on vomit in the hall when I said that, but I'm sorry it came out." And she said Larry said the "D" word -- he defended himself since when he said it, he was both covered in vomit, and slipping on it in the hall.
She even told the pediatrician about it, who said she was lucky that was all that we said, given our situation! So I am pretty pleased with my "oh shoot" comments...
