Night 9

A - Ian go seep wif me
I - OK, I gonna
A - You sick
I - I'm sick
A - And I'm sick
I - I have a feevah (fever)
A - Where?
I - Right dat
A - No you don't have a feevah
I - No I have a feevah
A - I'm tired.  This is messy room
I - What messy room?
A - Um, this shirt. You see dat?
I -  Yes....oh
A - Ian I'm tired
I - I'm tired sometimes. I'm tired sometimes
A - You sick?
I - Yeah
A - And I'm sick
I - You happy?
A - Um no I'm not happy, I'm sick
I - No you sad
A - I'm sad
I - Why?
A - Cuz
I - Wanna go a doctor?
A - Yes I wanna go to a doctor
I - We not goin to doctor right now
A - Why?
I - Cuz we going home
A - I wanna go to the doctor
I - Not goin to a doctor
A - But I wannoo
I - Not not going to the doctor cuz I'm sick at the doctor
A - I wanna go at the doctor right now
I - No you not going now. Fevah (fever)? You have a fevah?
A - Yeah
I - Why?
A - Cuz
I - Cuz you have a fevah?
A - Yeah
I - I have Nemo Alex, I have Nemo!
A - I wanna see. Weewee. And Nemo says weewee
I - Oh, I don't want dat Nemo
A - He's a mommy one?
I - No he's a daddy
A - Why?
I - Cuz
A - Why mom-Ian?
I - Cuz he has daddy (Talks quiety to Nemo. It's hard to make out what he's saying, but I think he accuses Nemo of taking his Dora blanket)
A - Fevah. I need a drink of wada cuz I have a fevah. I bupped (burped). I bupped in my wada
I - No I don't want dis banket lovey, I need a banket lovey. Oh, lovey. Where my teddy? You have a fevah my teddy bear. Cuz he need to go to the doctor. I need to hold my teddy bear. I talking to my teddy bear.
A - Why?
I - Cuz (continues talking softly to the animals in his bed)
Then...silence for several minute, and I'm sure they've fallen asleep, but the tape keeps going. Then they start up again...
I - I need you
A - I'm heah (here) Ian
I - I need you
A - I'm heah. I'm heah Ian

And that's it for tonight. They woke up very early today. Ian was crying because he couldn't find his lovey at 5:35 this morning, so I gave it to him.  But by then, their room was already very bright, so they never went back to sleep.  They were very tired tonight, which is why the conversation was so short.

My fingers are crossed that my new recorder will be here tomorrow, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to use some snippets of sounds to supplement the transcripts.
